We keep our groups small — maximum 8 riders on shared departures — so every tour feels personal. From 6 riders on full-day tours and 7 on half-day tours, a second guide joins: one leading, one watching the rear. Our guides are carefully selected for their deep knowledge of Buenos Aires’ history and culture, and they adapt every ride to the interests of the group. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years and 300,000 km — and we still think the best way to understand a city is to live it, not watch it from a window.
Yes — and we’ve designed our routes specifically with safety in mind. We ride on bike lanes and backstreets whenever possible, avoiding heavy traffic. Helmets are included on all tours. From 6 or 7 riders, a second guide joins to make sure no one gets left behind in traffic. All riders are covered by public liability insurance throughout the tour, and our guides carry first aid equipment on every ride.
Not at all. Buenos Aires is a very flat city, and we ride at a relaxed pace with frequent stops. Our half-day tours (4 hours, ~15 km) are suitable for virtually any fitness level. The Full Day City Tour (7 hours, ~20 km) is slightly more demanding, but we recommend eBikes for anyone who’d prefer less effort — they make the full day very comfortable. Our tours are suitable for all ages — we have the right equipment for every rider, subject to availability, please let us know at the time of booking.
A bike lets you cover much more ground than walking, while staying close enough to the street to actually feel the neighborhoods — something a bus never allows. You can stop anywhere, explore at your own pace, and have real conversations with your guide along the way. It’s the best balance between range and depth.
Shared group tours are available in English. Private tours are available in English, Spanish or Portuguese (Portuguese subject to guide availability). If you need a specific language, contact us at info@bikingbuenosaires.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Yes, eBikes are available on all tours at an extra charge. They’re especially recommended for the Full Day City Tour (20 km) and the Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour (30 km). eBikes are subject to availability — please request one at the time of booking to ensure we have one ready for you.
Yes — and they’re one of our most popular choices. Our handcrafted bamboo bikes are lightweight, comfortable on cobblestone streets, and completely unique. They’re available at no extra charge on all tours, subject to availability.
Per Section 10 of our Terms and Conditions: 10.6 Rain Policy- In the case of rain, it shall be assumed that the tour will be going as scheduled unless otherwise notified by Biking BA to the passenger. Biking BA will cancel the tour in cases of extreme weather that compromise the safety of the passengers which include lightning, thunder and/or flooding. Biking BA provides rain ponchos and other measures to mitigate the weather, therefore, if the tour goes out and the passenger decides to cancel their booking, he/she will be refunded 50% of their payment or given 100% credit to a future tour of equal or less value.
Both are 4-hour half-day tours, but they cover very different sides of the city. The South City Tour goes through San Telmo, La Boca and Puerto Madero — the historic, working-class heart of Buenos Aires, full of immigrant stories and football passion. The North City Tour covers Palermo and Recoleta — the elegant, leafy side of the city, with parks, lakes and world-class architecture. If you have two days, do both. If you only have one, choose South for history and energy, or North for beauty and calm.
Our signature tour — 7 hours and 20 km covering both the south and the north of Buenos Aires in a single day. It includes a traditional Argentine asado (BBQ) lunch and gives you the most complete picture of the city. It’s the right choice if you want to experience all of Buenos Aires on two wheels without having to choose between North and South.
Beyond the classic city tours, we offer four themed experiences: the Hidden Graffiti & Urban Art Tour (street art through lesser-known neighborhoods), the Authentic Pizza & Bike Tour (four legendary pizzerias by bike), the Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour (cycling, kayaking and asado in the Paraná Delta), and the Night Bike Tour (Buenos Aires after dark). All themed tours are private only.
The South City Tour, North City Tour and Full Day City Tour are available as shared small-group departures (max 8 riders) in English, as well as private. The Hidden Graffiti & Urban Art Tour, Authentic Pizza & Bike Tour, Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour and Night Bike Tour are private only.
A shared tour is a scheduled departure open to individual bookings — you’ll ride with other travelers, up to a maximum of 8. A private tour is exclusively for your group, at a time that suits you, in your preferred language, with a route that can be adapted to your interests. Private tours are available for any group size — we regularly organize departures for groups of 30 or more, with multiple guides assigned accordingly.
Yes — and this is one of the things that sets us apart. If your group is particularly interested in football, architecture, history, food or any other aspect of Buenos Aires, tell us in advance and your guide will adapt the tour accordingly. Even on shared departures, our guides read the group and adjust the focus as the ride unfolds.
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes suitable for cycling. We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses and a light layer if you’re riding in the evening or early morning. Water is provided on all tours — you don’t need to bring your own. For the Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour, bring a change of clothes and a swimsuit if you’d like to swim.
We ride rain or shine. Buenos Aires rain is usually light and short-lived, and our guides know how to keep the experience enjoyable in any weather. We’ll only cancel a tour in cases of extreme weather that compromise safety — lightning, thunder or flooding. If we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund or 100% credit toward a future tour. If the tour goes ahead and you decide not to join, our standard cancellation policy applies.
Most tours start and finish at Casa Castagnino, Balcarce 1016, San Telmo — one of the oldest buildings in Buenos Aires, built in the late 1700s. The North City Tour starts and ends at Fray Justo Santamaría de Oro 1778, Palermo. Check the individual tour pages for exact meeting points and directions.
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before the start time to get fitted on your bike and meet the guide. Tours leave on time.
All tours include a bike (classic city bike or bamboo bike), helmet, filtered water, a traditional mate stop with alfajores (Argentina’s iconic dulce de leche sandwich cookie), and public liability insurance. The Full Day City Tour also includes a traditional Argentine asado (BBQ) lunch. The Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour includes the kayak, train ticket and asado on the island. The Pizza & Bike Tour includes tastings at four pizzerias with beverages. eBikes are available at an extra charge on all tours.
Yes — on private tours, we can deliver the bikes to your hotel at an extra charge. This option is not available on shared departures. Please request this at the time of booking.
A second guide joins when the group reaches 6 riders on full-day tours, and 7 riders on half-day tours. One guide leads, one watches the rear — so everyone stays safe and no one gets left behind in traffic.
We recommend booking as early as possible — our tours are limited to 8 riders on shared departures and spots fill up quickly, especially in high season (November–March). Online bookings remain open until 2 hours before the tour start time, and 14 hours before for the Tigre Bike & Kayak Tour.
Full refund for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the tour. For cancellations within 24 hours, please check our Terms and Conditions or contact us directly — we’ll always try to find a solution.
